The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting a church in Karak Governorate in southern Jordan.

In a statement from the MWL General Secretariat, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, expressed the MWL’s solidarity and sympathy with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the victims' families during this difficult time.

Al-Issa reaffirmed the MWL’s firm rejection and condemnation of violence and terrorism in all their forms and under any pretext.

Officials, institutions, and factions from several Arab countries condemned Friday’s terror attack on mourners attending a funeral, killing seven people. At least 27 were injured in the attack, according to Jordan’s Public Security Directorate.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II pledged the harshest punishment for those responsible.
