A group of seven female participants from Bangladesh arrived in Istanbul on 5 October this year to take part in a two-year Qur’an education program under full scholarships offered by the Aziz Mahmud Hudayi Foundation of Türkiye.
Earlier, the Aziz Mahmud Hudayi Foundation, which is officially affiliated with the Presidency of Türkiye, offered full scholarships to the Bangladeshi women for the first time.
Giving details of the course, the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Istanbul said the Foundation will fully cover the expenses of round-trip air tickets, accommodation, food, medical care, and necessary educational materials for the seven students under the program.
During their stay in Istanbul, the students will have the opportunity to learn the Qur’an as well as Hadith, Fiqh, and the basic knowledge of Islam. They will also be taught the Turkish language and provided with various practical training.
Additionally, the students will receive training on basic health and hygiene, preventive healthcare, and essential etiquette and manners for young women. In addition, they will have opportunities to participate in various discussion sessions, seminars, workshops, and competitions.
In addition to the training program, the students will have an opportunity to visit historical and cultural sites to understand firsthand the history, culture, and heritage of Türkiye.
The Consulate General of Bangladesh in Istanbul lauded the Aziz Mahmud Hudayi Foundation for arranging the scholarship program for Bangladeshi students. It sees a new window to expand engagement between the two countries in the fields of culture and education.
“The initiative has created new opportunities for further cooperation and mutual communication between Bangladesh and Türkiye in education, religious knowledge, and cultural sectors,” according to the foreign mission. The program is expected to play a positive role in further strengthening relations between the peoples of the two countries, it added.
Earlier, Ms. Marufa Bint Ibrahimy, the spouse of the Bangladeshi Consul General, welcomed the visiting students upon their arrival in Istanbul.
