ChatGPT, Claude, Grok hit by outages as users report access issues worldwide

Several major artificial intelligence platforms, including OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude and xAI's Grok, experienced temporary service disruptions on Thursday.

Outage-monitoring platform Downdetector said user reports indicated problems with OpenAI beginning at 10.56 am EDT (1456GMT).

Users also reported disruptions affecting Claude and Grok, while problems were reported with Google's Gemini.

Cloudflare also experienced reported problems beginning at 11.12 am EDT (1512GMT), according to Downdetector.

The cause of the disruptions was not immediately clear.

OpenAI's status page currently shows its systems as fully operational.
